Jerry Rosenthal specializes in real estate and facilities law with emphasis on significant conveyancing, lending (for both lenders and borrowers), leasing, management, construction and development transactions.
Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Rosenthal served in a number of legal positions with the City of New York, including Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Law Department and Assistant General Counsel in the Economic Development Administration specializing in real property law. He also served as Law Secretary to Judge Charles Gold.
Mr. Rosenthal has extensive experience in the private sector, having served on the legal staff of Uris Buildings Corporation, where his practice primarily involved major office leasing transactions, CBS Inc., where he had prime responsibility for all of its real estate, facilities, restaurant and related legal matters, and The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, where he represented the company in its various real estate activities, especially substantial real estate lending transactions and leasing. Additionally, Mr. Rosenthal was Associate Counsel at Fidelity National Title where he was involved with title insurance claim administration.
For eighteen years he was a partner in a prominent mid-sized New York law firm where he maintained his real estate practice. For seven of those years, he was the Managing Partner of the firm.
He has taught courses in business law, real estate and management at Long Island University.
Mr. Rosenthal is a member of the American Bar Association. He was previously a member of the Metro New York Board of Governors for the U.S. Olympic Committee and the Board of Directors of the Real Estate Practitioners Institute at L.I.U’s C.W. Post campus.
