Alison Arden Besunder is the principal attorney of Arden Besunder P.C., which she founded in 2009 after a decade practicing law in the New York office of a national law firm. Alison provides legal services to private clients and small businesses in the areas of Trusts and Estate Planning, Elder Law, Estate Litigation, Commercial Litigatoin, Guardianship, Intellectual Property, and Business Succession Planning.
In 2019, Alison joined Goetz Fitzpatrick as Of Counsel. She brings extensive experience counseling clients on matters ranging from the simple to complex, helping them prevent future disputes through proactive planning and to resolve disputes that proceed to litigation. She is a frequent speaker on topics such as Estate Planning During Divorce, End of Life Decision Making, Cyber-Security for Lawyers, Social Media and Ethics, and Social Media and Ethics.
Prior to founding Arden Besunder P.C., Alison was a commercial litigation partner at a national law firm, where she represented large fashion companies in their fight against counterfeits of their trademarks and copyrights. Her previous employment includes working with the Grievance Committee of the Second and Eleventh Judicial Districts, as well as a prominent First Amendment lawyer protecting small entertainment businesses affected by the change in New York City's zoning laws during the Giuliani administration.
In 2019, Alison was selected to the New York Metro Super Lawyers list. Starting in Spring 202, she will serve as an adjunct professor of Estate Planning at Columbia Law School. Alison serves on the New York State Bar Association’s Artificial Intelligence subcommittee, as well as the board of the American Camp Association, Tri-State.
