Gerald Morganstern handles commercial and retail leasing of office, showroom, industrial and shopping center space throughout the United States as well as the New York metropolitan area, representing both landlords and tenants. Recent lease transaction include health clubs, banks, superstores, restaurants, data centers and child care centers, as well as the more usual office, commercial and retail space.

As an attorney and executor, Jerry has been involved in the administration of numerous estates and trusts. He has devoted substantial time over the last thirty years to the administration of a connected group of complex estates and foundations operating shopping centers, retail strips and industrial buildings on Long Island. In addition, Jerry represents clients in the purchase, financing and sale of real estate and in all management matters. The remainder of Jerry’s commercial practice is diverse, including representation of a vertically-integrated corporation with nationwide service centers, beach clubs, fashion designers and interior design showrooms.

Jerry is a member of The New York State Bar Association (Sections of Trusts and Estates and Real Property) and American Bar Association (Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law, Committee on Commercial and Industrial Leasing). He has served as an arbitrator in commercial real estate broker disputes for the Real Estate Board of New York and is president of B’nai B’rith, New York Real Estate Division. Jerry enjoys an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Jerry is counsel to, and has been director and president of, The Bridge Inc., an organization providing social services and housing in Manhattan for the chronically mentally ill. From 1990 to 2000 he was Mayor of the Incorporated Village of Hewlett Harbor. He has previously served as police commissioner, trustee and deputy mayor of the village and is currently chairman of the Board of Zoning Appeals. He has also served as a member, and later chairperson, of the Long Range Planning Committee of the Hewlett-Woodmere School District.
