Joshua Oberman, a partner at Goetz Fitzpatrick LLP, has been named the President of the Board of Directors the New York City Surety Association for 2018.
The New York City Surety Association is a non-profit organization of surety underwriters, agents, accountants, attorneys, and other related professionals with an interest in the New York City metropolitan surety market. Its mission is to educate and inform our members and the community about issues relating to corporate suretyship, monitor legislative or other regulatory activity and where appropriate take steps to influence its outcome, promote an awareness and understanding of the benefits of corporate suretyship, and to provide forums for networking in the local surety marketplace.
An experienced construction litigator, Mr. Oberman represents general contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, developers, and building owners in all facets of their business. He has extensive expertise litigating construction claims on both public and private projects. Mr. Oberman has helped many clients successfully resolve disputes with Labor Unions and has extensive experience drafting and negotiating high-value construction contracts between contractors and the largest construction managers and building owners in New York.
