Brian Farkas, an associate at Goetz Fitzpatrick LLP, moderated a panel at the New York City Bar Association on December 9, 2015 entitled, “Writing For Lawyers.” The program featured attorneys discussing their legal writing in a variety of contexts, ranging from the popular press to law reviews to social media. Sponsored by the Committee on Career Advancement and Management and New Lawyer Institute, the event offered practical advice on publishing for junior attorneys.
The other panelists included Daniel K. Wiig, In-House Counsel to the Municipal Credit Union; Clara Flebus, Court Attorney at the First Department Appellate Division, New York State Supreme Court; Michael Phillips, Litigation Associate at the international firm Clyde & Co.; and Steven Bennett, a Partner at Park Jensen Bennett LLP.
Brian’s writing has focused primarily on mediation, arbitration and intellectual property. His work has appeared in numerous publications, including the Harvard Negotiation Law Review, New York County Lawyer, Dispute Resolution Journal, Resolutions Roundtable, Alternatives to the High Cost of Litigation, and the Northeastern Law Journal.
