Thomas M. Finegan concentrates his practice in construction matters. He handles the full gamut of construction law, including contract negotiations among owner's representatives, construction manager, architect and mechanical engineers and conducting all aspects of litigation and alternative dispute resolution in the construction industry.
Thomas's recent projects have included the negotiation and drafting of all documents for the purchase of a construction subdivision of a public corporation; trial of a construction arbitration to conclusion in which he successfully defeated a multimillion dollar claim and recovering 100% of the counterclaim and all legal fees; defeated, before a jury, a negligence claim brought when a subcontractor caused the destruction an adjacent structure and, again, achieved the repayment to the client of all of litigation costs and legal fees as part of a final settlement. Before the joining the Firm in 1985, Thomas was a partner in the firm of LaRossa, Axenfeld & Mitchell. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey (1977), as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second and Federal Circuits. A graduate of Fordham University , he earned his law degree at Brooklyn Law School and is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Construction and the Real Property Law Sections.
